Wow I can't believethat tou did this in five hours. Thats how long it usually takes for me to complete on of my pictures and they aren't any where near the quality of yours.
I really like this picture, you made it very realistic looking. The coloring is handled so well on it, you're very good at blending it perfectly. All the shading looks perfect too, tee hee everything is where it should be .
Youre really good at lava, I wicsh I could draw/color lava at a level near yours but *le sigh* I can't .. oh well... no lava for me then .
The dragon is very kewl, you did a great job at its anatomy .. very spiffeh
I aslo like the background, its very detailed (wow, really can't believe this only took 5 hours). And the bright lava has a very good contrast against the dull colored rocks below the dragon.
The picture has a very good composition as well, its all set up so that the dragon is the first thing you look at
First thing that draws me in is the background. The colors are hot and impressive, they really make the vision explode and stare into the heat. Then the shapes become clearer. The hard-edged geometric shapes of everything in this is a wonderful theme and expressed in every direction. The dragon, though a little more fleshy still pretains the look and feel of cut-edged rock like where he lives. Though its already done I'd think if you made the foreground and dragon a little more red or orange it would play into the whole piece much better instead of contrasting so rashly even though it shares the same hues.
